Stand Up Awareness Week 2021

Stand Up Awareness Week 2021

Stand Up Week is a week where second level schools stand up to homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying.

Stand up week was celebrated in the school 15th-19th November, 2021.

This year at St Aidan’s we decorated the school for pride, learned about LGBT, hung a flag outside, and we dressed in rainbow order: -

First year - red

Second year - orange

Third year - yellow

Fifth year - green

Sixth year - blue

Teachers and helpers purple

We also have many students apart of the LGBTI+

During some classes we also learned about different parts of LGBT+ like

  • Pansexual
  • Gay
  • Trans
  • Bi
  • Non-Binary

Outside the school is the rainbow pride flag to show that we are a supportive school and homophobic bullying is no different to other kinds of bullying and is still wrong to do.
