Junk Kouture

Junk Kouture

Junk Kouture is a national contest that encourages young designers in second level education to create striking fashion designs and works of wearable art from everyday junk that would normally find its way into the bin. It takes in elements of fashion, design, engineering and environmental sustainability and transforms them into a creative contest like no other. Junk Kouture has inspired and captivated thousands of students and teachers across the country.

In their first year of entry, our students have been extremely successful in reaching the regional final in The Helix in 2019. This is a testament to their creativity, skill and strong work ethic. Each team displays their astonishing innovation, with remarkable performances during the live shows. Their designs featured a highly detailed and imaginative use of recycled materials.

The students are currently working on their entries for the 2020 competition!

Congratulations to our 6th Year LCA students on the fantastic achievements they have achieved in the Junk Kouture project over the last 2 Years.
