🗳️ Student Council 2025–2026
This year’s Student Council was elected through a school-wide vote, where every student had the opportunity to take part in the democratic process. Students filled out ballot papers and placed them in a ballot box, and votes were carefully counted to ensure a fair result.
We are delighted to announce the Student Council for the 2025–2026 school year:

💬 Student Voice at St. Aidan’s
Student Voice is a huge part of who we are at St. Aidan’s Community School.
We believe that students should play an active role in shaping their school experience, and we value their insights on school life, teaching, and learning.
This year, we are continuing to enhance Student Voice, particularly in the area of Teaching and Learning, to make sure every student feels heard, respected, and empowered to contribute ideas that make a real difference.
🤝 About the Student Council
The Student Council is a group of elected student representatives who work in partnership with school management, staff, and parents for the benefit of the whole school community.
The Council meets regularly to discuss student concerns, propose new ideas, and organise events that build school spirit and wellbeing.
They work closely with Ms. O'Callaghan and Ms.Whelan, our Student Council Liaison Teachers, to bring about positive change and ensure that Student Voice is at the heart of school life.
🏫 What the Student Council Does
The Student Council is responsible for:
-
Working with the staff, Board of Management, and Parents’ Association
-
Communicating and consulting with all students in the school
-
Involving as many students as possible in the activities of the Council
-
Planning and managing the Council’s programme of activities for the year
-
Managing and accounting for any funds raised by the Council
🌟 Our Commitment
At St. Aidan’s, we believe that leadership begins with listening.
Our Student Council plays a key role in helping every student feel part of a caring, inclusive, and dynamic school community.
Together, we continue to live out our school values - Respect, Responsibility, and Community - in everything we do.
Guided by our school motto, “Strength and Caring,” we strive to create an environment where every voice matters, every student belongs, and every idea has the power to make a difference.
