St Aidan's Community School

Principal's Welcome

I began working in St. Aidan’s Community School in 1996. From the very first day I realised the great honour it is to work as part of this exceptional school community. The school has always been ahead of its time. Students are firmly at the centre of all that we do and their learning and ultimate success is our primary concern.

Promoting and enhancing wellbeing is a prerequisite to all that we do because we know when you are well you excel! Therefore we spend a lot of time making sure students are happy and feeling good emotionally and physically. This forms the foundation for a productive and meaningful education. Our students achieve at the highest level. We have past pupils working and studying in such areas as science, the arts, medicine, business, engineering, computers, education, politics and law. Most of all, our students leave our school as mature, compassionate, connected and confident citizens, happy and fulfilled from their educational experience here and ready for the next chapter of their lives in the world of work or further education.

Our Business is learning and we are ready and waiting to help every student achieve and more often exceed their potential. Choosing St. Aidan’s is the right choice. I know, I’ve done it twice!

Mr.Kevin Shortall.
