Student Voice is a huge part of St. Aidan's Community School. We value our students' voice and value their perspective on schooling and teaching and learning. We are working on enhancing our Student Voice in the area of teaching and learning this coming year.
We also have a very active Student Council who are a group of elected student representatives who are involved in the affairs of the school and work in partnership with school management, staff and parents for the benefit of St. Aidan's. The Student Council work with Mr. Casey the Student Council Liaison Teacher in order to bring about positive change in the school and to ensure that Student Voice is actively heard.
The Student Council has responsibility for:
· Working with the staff, Board of Management and Parents' Association in the school;
· Communicating and consulting with all of the students in the school;
· Involving as many students as possible in the activities of the Council;
· Planning and managing the Council's programme of activities for the year;
· Managing and accounting to the student council and Board of Management, for any funds raised by the Council.
This year we held our elections in October all socially distanced of course.
We are now delighted to officially announce our student council members for the 2020/21 academic year.
